East Moline, IL. - Only ten points separated the current point leader Doug Crampton and second place Mike Veloz Jr. going into the famed championship weekend at the Quad City Raceway in East Moline, IL. Doug Crampton, who already has title gold at the Raceway of the Quad Cities, was determined as any driver in his situation. With the championship on the line Mike Veloz Jr., trying to double his payout for the night, decided to do the Front Row Challenge starting shotgun on the field of twenty-three drivers. This would only help Doug Crampton in his quest for another championship at Quad City Raceway. Mike Veloz Jr., despite his best efforts, would find out just how big of a mistake it was to try the Front Row Challenge on championship weekend, would only finish the night in the fifth position. Doug Crampton would hold of challenges from Mitch Morris to take the final points A-Main victory of the season and grab another Quad City Raceway championship in the UMP modified division. Mach1 Race Cars would like to congratulate Doug Crampton on another determined and successful season, grabbing another championship!
Davenport, IA. - Ray Guss, Jr. was disqualified just 24 hours after being celebrated as the ninth different winner in as many Deery Brothers Summer Series Late Model features this season. At Davenport Speedway for the season finale Deery Brothers Summer Series event, Ray Guss Jr. held off dynamic and astounding charges from Marty Diercks. Marty Diercks would challenge Ray Guss Jr. for the entire 50 lap event, giving the race fans a show to remember that would be accustomed to any season finale, racing side by side, lap after lap, but coming up just short of the victory, finishing just a car length behind Ray Guss Jr. After celebrating the victory, it was taken away, as Ray Guss Jr.'s Deery Brothers victory was taken away due to circumstances not completely to our knowledge. The victory was then in turn handed to the on track runner up, Marty Diercks, for his first Deery Brothers victory in only his eighth late model start. Mach1 Race Cars would like to congratulate Marty Diercks on a fantastic and phenomenal run and victory at Davenport Speedway for the Deery Brothers Summer Series season finale!
